Israeli Media: Concerns Over Mamdani and Protests Shorten Netanyahu’s Visit to New York

Al-Taj News – Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will shorten his visit to New York to deliver a speech before the United Nations General Assembly, amid concerns that Mayor Zohran Mamdani may take measures against him while he is in the city, along with fears of anti-Netanyahu protests breaking out.

According to the report, Netanyahu will arrive in the United States on Thursday morning and is scheduled to deliver his speech at the United Nations at 14:00 New York time. He will not stay overnight in the city as usual, nor will he bring journalists aboard the “Wings of Zion” aircraft.

The newspaper said the aircraft is likely to land at a military airport in New Jersey or at Newark Airport, rather than John F. Kennedy International Airport, due to difficulties coordinating with U.S. authorities and concerns related to keeping the aircraft at the airport during the visit.

Yedioth Ahronoth also noted that Netanyahu canceled a scheduled stop in Texas to meet with businessman Elon Musk, while no meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump has been arranged so far, amid efforts to hold limited meetings with officials and foreign leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations meetings.
